How we Started

Girl Potential Care Centre is a community-driven organization dedicated to empowering girls and young women to rise above adversity and reach their full potential. Founded in 2016 as Brita Kigambo Foundation by three young female friends, our mission was to support and uplift young people within their communities and schools. In 2020, we formalized our efforts as a Community-Based Organization under registration number CD/GRP/394 and rebranded as Girl Power Connect, reaffirming our commitment to helping girls facing challenges such as early pregnancies, forced marriages, school dropouts, and gender-based violence.

More About Us

Through mentorship, education, and skills training in social work, arts and crafts, entrepreneurship, and urban farming, we provide young women with opportunities for personal and economic growth. Our initiatives contribute to poverty alleviation, HIV/AIDS awareness, and human rights advocacy, creating a ripple effect that uplifts families and communities. By equipping girls with practical knowledge, life skills, and leadership development, we empower them to become self-sufficient and confident in shaping their futures. We also foster partnerships with schools, local organizations, and stakeholders to expand our reach and impact. Girl Potential Care Centre stands as a beacon of hope, championing equality and empowerment for girls, ensuring they have the tools to succeed and make a lasting impact.
