Social entrepreneurship is a vital and rapidly growing force in Uganda. Social enterprises are using innovative, business-driven approaches to address critical challenges such as youth unemployment, rural poverty, climate change, healthcare, education, and food security, while creating jobs and fostering inclusive economic growth.
Despite their proven impact and resilience, social enterprises in Uganda remain largely unrecognized, unsupported, and under-resourced. They operate without a dedicated national policy framework, face difficulties accessing funding, markets, and technical support, and struggle to scale their solutions. This limits their full potential to contribute to Uganda’s social and economic development.
FUSE is committed to growing and promoting impact-driven businesses, strengthening the practice of social entrepreneurship, and increasing public awareness of the sector’s value. Through advocacy, capacity building, and ecosystem development, we work to create an enabling environment where social enterprises can thrive and maximize their impact on society, the economy, and the environment.
A strong social enterprise sector that is effectively contributing to the social and economic development of Uganda.
Create platforms, enabling environment, and capacity for all social enterprises to help maximise their impact on society, economy, and environment.
