Baraka Performers, founded in 2017 by Martin Male, is a transformative organisation dedicated to shaping the destinies of vulnerable children and youth aged seven and above. Their mission is to provide a platform for these individuals to excel in formal education and cultivate skills in music, dance, drama, instrument learning, singing, and life management, fostering their growth into responsible citizens.
Derived from the Kiswahili word meaning ‘blessings,’ Baraka extends its hand to those facing adversity, including orphans and children from broken or helpless homes. We aspire to be a blessing to these vulnerable individuals, empowering them to, in turn, become blessings to themselves and others.
Rooted in Christian values, Baraka Performers seeks to instill moral responsibility in its members, nurturing a love for God and neighbors alike. The organization reaches beyond its immediate impact, aiming to contribute to Uganda’s tourism industry through the promotion of music, dance, and cultural expressions both nationally and internationally. At our culture center, we host domestic and foreign volunteers, offering them a unique opportunity to experience the rich diversity of dances, songs, and plays originating from Uganda and across Africa.
