Kibbo Ghetto Youth Climate Change Foundation is a nationally registered, youth-led Indigenous Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) in Uganda, founded in 2021 and formally accredited by the National Bureau for Non-Governmental Organizations (NGO Bureau) under File Number: MIA/NB/2025/05/6762. The Foundation was granted a national operational permit (Permit No: INDP0006762NB) on 2nd May 2025 enabling it to implement programs across the country in accordance with the NGO Act, CAP 109. This Foundation was established by a group of young leaders who emerged from Uganda’s urban ghettos, youth who overcame adversity and made a deliberate decision to return and uplift the communities they came from. What began as a grassroots initiative of “ghetto graduates” determined to rewrite the story of marginalization has grown into a national platform for youth-led climate resilience, urban transformation and social justice. We operate on the belief that sustainable change must be community-driven, inclusive and rooted in lived realities. Kibbo Ghetto Foundation empowers young people and vulnerable populations to lead local interventions in climate action, urban resilience, youth skilling and social equity with a strategic focus on transforming informal settlements into engines of innovation, dignity, and opportunity
