Why We Rise for Our Brothers?
In the rich tapestry of Swahili culture, the word Ndugu carries a weight far heavier than its literal translation. While it means “brother” or “relative,” its true essence describes a bond of shared responsibility a commitment to never let one’s kin walk alone. It is this spirit of brotherhood that forms the foundation of RISE-UP NDUGU.
For too long, a silent crisis has been unfolding across the landscapes of Uganda. While the world has made incredible strides in empowering women and girls—work that is vital and necessary—a glaring gap has emerged. In our villages and city centers, the “boy-child” and the young man have been largely left out of the development conversation. This neglect has created a vacuum, leaving a generation of young men without a compass, a craft, or a voice.
