Munakyalo Agrofresh specializes in providing innovative cooling solutions to smallholder farmers in rural areas, particularly in Uganda. Our core focus is on developing and deploying solar-powered IoT cooling hubs that enable farmers to preserve their perishable produce effectively, thereby extending shelf life, reducing post-harvest losses, and improving market access.
Our cooling hubs utilize solar energy to power refrigeration units, maintaining optimal storage conditions for fruits, vegetables, and other perishable goods. Integrated IoT technology allows for remote monitoring and control of temperature and humidity levels, ensuring that produce remains fresh and market-ready. This technology not only enhances the quality and longevity of stored goods but also provides farmers with valuable data insights to optimize their production and marketing strategies.
We serve smallholder farmers who face significant challenges in preserving their harvests due to inadequate storage infrastructure, unreliable electricity supply, and limited access to markets.
