Our Programs
FUSE drives social enterprise growth through strategic programs that strengthen innovation, impact, policy advocacy, investment readiness, and ecosystem development.
Policy Advocacy
We are actively collaborating with the Ugandan government and key stakeholders to develop the country’s first National Social Enterprise Policy. This landmark policy aims to secure legal recognition, supportive regulations, product certification, and better access to funding and markets for the sector. The introduction of a dedicated National Social Enterprise Policy will enable social enterprises in Uganda to operate with greater legitimacy, attract more investment, access public procurement opportunities, and scale their solutions effectively. It will also protect genuine impact-driven businesses while creating a clear regulatory framework that fosters innovation and accountability.
Learn More →National Social Enterprise Directory
We maintain Uganda’s official National Social Enterprise Directory — a comprehensive, verified registry of active social enterprises across the country. The directory makes it easy for partners, buyers, investors, donors, and collaborators to discover, verify, and connect with credible social enterprises. This centralized platform increases visibility for social enterprises, facilitates partnerships, and helps them access new markets and opportunities.
Learn More →Social Enterprise Campus Hubs
Social Enterprise Campus Hubs are university-based innovation spaces designed to nurture the next generation of social entrepreneurs. These hubs provide students with education, mentoring, networking opportunities, resources, and practical support to develop and scale purpose-driven ventures. The goal is to equip young people with the skills and confidence to create jobs and solutions instead of joining the queue for employment after graduation. We launched the first-ever Social Enterprise Campus Hub in Uganda at Makerere University on 6th May 2026, with plans to expand to universities nationwide.
Learn More →Social Enterprise Awards 2026 (3rd Edition)
The Social Enterprise Awards is an annual event that celebrates innovation, resilience, and outstanding impact within the social enterprise sector. Now in its third edition, the Awards recognize and showcase top-performing social enterprises, inspiring others and raising the profile of the entire sector. This year, the Awards feature 10 competitive categories, including the newly introduced “Social Enterprise Legacy Award”, which Honors individuals, both Ugandan and non-Ugandan, who have demonstrated exceptional long-term impact and sustainability (at least 20 years) in transforming communities.
Learn More →Pan-African Social Enterprise Summit (PSES) 2026
The Pan-African Social Enterprise Summit (PSES) is FUSE’s flagship annual gathering. The 2026 edition will be a high-level two-day event scheduled for 19th–20th November 2026 in Kampala. Under the theme “Leveraging the Power of Social Entrepreneurship to Drive Africa’s Social & Economic Growth”, the summit will bring together social entrepreneurs, changemakers, innovators, investors, policymakers, and development partners from across Africa and beyond. It aims to address continental gaps in policy, frameworks, and collaboration while fostering transformative solutions and cross-border partnerships.
Learn More →Domestic certification of social enterprises
We are working with strategic partners to establish a credible domestic certification process for all social businesses operating in Uganda. This initiative seeks to protect the reputation of the sector by distinguishing genuine social enterprises from fake and substandard operators, thereby building trust with customers, investors, and government bodies.
Learn More →Training and Empowerment Programs
We deliver targeted training, business coaching, and mentorship programs to social enterprises, with a strong focus on rural and underserved areas. These programs are designed to strengthen the capacity, competitiveness, and sustainability of social enterprises. We also manage two dedicated funding facilities: • Social Enterprise Fund – Supporting youth-led social enterprises • Rural Impact Fund – Supporting women and girls in rural communities engaged in social entrepreneurship These initiatives are crucial because many social entrepreneurs, especially in rural areas and among youth and women, possess powerful ideas but often lack the business skills, networks, and capital needed to scale. Our training and funding programs bridge this gap, helping them turn passion into sustainable, high-impact ventures.
