Stage 1: Gather your documentation

Before you apply, collect the following:

Legal documents

The document required depends on your legal structure:

• CBO/NGO: constitution or articles of association
• For-profits: constitution or shareholders' agreement
• Co-operatives: co-op rules
• Company limited by guarantee: memorandum and articles of association

Financial data or business plan

• Latest audited financials, including a profit/loss statement, or management accounts
• If you are a start-up or have operated for less than 3 years, provide financial reports to date, a current business plan, and a 12-month financial forecast
• Impact data and social costs. If you need help, please contact us and we will support you.

Any other supporting documents

These might include a business plan, annual report, or marketing materials.

Stage 2: Submit your application

Submit your application through our online portal. We will review it and be in touch within 3 business days.

Stage 3: Application discussion

This is an opportunity to interact with each other, learn more about your business, the problem you are solving, your approach, and what makes you a social enterprise. We may also ask for additional impact information.

Stage 4: Outcome

Approved social enterprises are officially certified and invited to complete their business profiles on our Social Enterprise Finder and member portal.

Declined enterprises will be issued with a report containing recommendations and may resubmit their application at no additional cost. They may also be issued with a verification certificate pending certification approval.
