AWEC-Africa is a Christian charity organization that empowers and equips women and the girl child to discover who they are and how to develop their full potential to achieve their life goals and dreams.
We are located in the eastern part of Uganda Jinja City in Bugembe Wanyama Road.
ARISE WOMEN EMPOWERMENT CENTER-AFRICA (AWEC-AFRICA) is a Christian charity organization that empowers and equips women and the girl child to discover who they are and how to develop their full potential to achieve their life goals and dreams. The organization strives to be a catalyst, helping the community to identify pressing needs and then work towards their fulfilment.
Registered first as a CBO in 2017, AWEC-AFRICA is now registered as an independent Non Government Organisation (NGO), Registration No. MIA/NB/2021/08/4800 with an office located in the Eastern part of Uganda, Jinja City, in Bugembe. AWEC-AFRICA aims at creating a platform through which women come together in a bid to improve their capacity to generate sustainable livelihoods. The guiding philosophy is; “helping women and girls awaken to their needs and ability to change and put this change to practical use through a participatory, partnership approach in a socially acceptable, gender sensitive and environmentally friendly manner”.
