BUAK is a refugee led social enterprise that aims at enhancing community resilience and sustainability by promoting the adoption and effective use of bio energy technologies such bio gas and BSF(black solider Fly) through demonstration plots, education, local training, ongoing support, and engagement with women, youth, and other stakeholders, while securing funding, fostering partnerships, and improving product value, financial literacy, and governance. Currently we have over 73 Households having biogas digesters of which 8 are under our loan scheme where a clients contribute 30% inkind and BUAK give in 70% . This loan is paid back through the bio slurry. Members save shares using the bio slurry or BSF products that they use to get low interest loans from the association at 2% for a maximum of 6 month for home development.
