ClimaVault Africa is a climate-smart agritech company tackling post-harvest losses and boosting farmer incomes across Africa. We leverage solar-powered IoT-enabled cooling hubs and our proprietary MunaFresh® edible coating to extend the shelf life of fresh produce from just a few days to up to three weeks, without the need for refrigeration. This innovation addresses the $4 billion in annual post-harvest losses across Africa and helps smallholder farmers reduce spoilage, increase sales, and stabilize incomes. Since our founding in 2021, we have supported over 50,000 farmers, saved more than 82,000 metric tons of produce from spoilage, and created 62 jobs. With 13 operational cooling hubs and more than 50,000 liters of MunaFresh® sold, our affordable, last-mile model is transforming food systems in Uganda and Zimbabwe. Our services include cooling-as-a-service at just $0.40 per crate per day and MunaFresh® edible coating sold at $3 per liter, making quality preservation accessible to even the smallest farmers.
