Farmplus Agrovets Uganda Limited was born out of the challenges my family faced after my father left us. My mother, started a livestock farm to provide for us, but we struggled to afford consistent and affordable protein feeds for our animals. Eventually, the business couldn’t sustain itself, and I had to leave school at 18 to help support our family as the eldest child.
This experience fueled my determination to tackle the issue of expensive and inconsistent protein feeds for livestock farmers. At Farmplus, we’ve developed an innovative solution using the maggot stage of black soldier flies to create a high-protein feed supplement. This feed is more than 60% protein and costs 30% less than traditional alternatives, ensuring a reliable supply for farmers.
