Mindbus Health Support Uganda (MHSU) is a youth led mental health NGO that was registered in Dec 2022 to create mental health awareness and offer affordable mental health support to the vulnerable communities in Uganda, with a goal to build better lives, and a major focus on reducing stigma related to mental health. Our core methodology is the use of Art therapy; e.g. play, arts/imagery, music, dance, drama and fireplace sessions as a way of employing entertaining, creative and artistic methods of creating awareness amongst adolescents and youths. This form of delivery is meant to attract a youthful and adolescent target audience, which covers more than 70% of the country’s populace. Our activities are documented through the use of YouTube videos, audio and video podcasts, short films, social media spaces, graphics, e-magazines and reports. In the next few years, we envision MHSU growing into a pivotal force in the youth mental health landscape of Uganda.
